Sikafloor sort slippery situation
Sikafloor MetalTop is a dry shake surface hardener containing specially graded non-oxidising metallic aggregates.
The danger of accidents as a result of slippery floors is constant within the food processing industry When ADM Pura were building a new edible oils processing unit in Purfleet, Essex, slip resistance was one of the principal considerations for the new floor surface

Sikafloor dry shake flooring in the news
After considering several flooring systems, the dry shake surface hardening system Sikafloor MetalTop was selected as the topping for the new concrete floor slabs by Newsquest Media Group.
Floor system - less maintenance and more colour
An innovative industrial floor installed by specialist concrete flooring contractors Twintec at the new distribution warehouse and offices.
Following a visit to inspect an existing Sikafloor slip resistant surface at the Royal Mail Railnet Hub in Willesden North London, ADM Pura were convinced that a Sikafloor dry shake system would provide the solution to their problem.
As a result the 8,000 sq.m.
warehouse floor at the new Purfleet unit, where thousands of tons of processed food products are stored pending delivery, received a topping of Sikafloor MetalTop surface hardener.
Sikafloor MetalTop is a dry shake surface hardener containing specially graded non-oxidising metallic aggregates.
The mix is sprinkled onto the surface of the new, wet laser-screeded concrete floor slab using a dedicated automated spreader.
The surface was then powerfloated to create an ultra durable floor surface that is tougher than almost any other and has a BBA 25 year certificate.
To provide maximum slip resistance, the floor was given a chemical ageing treatment by specialist surface preparation company Texturcare.
This treatment increases the surface micro profile of the floor, revealing the metallic aggregate which creates a greatly enhanced slip resistant surface.
The surface was then tested to a specified slip resistance coefficient.
The resulting plum coloured finished floor is attractive, extremely durable, retains the easy cleaning properties and satisfies the all-important safety demands.
