Sika A Towering Success In Portsmouth
Sika's Icoment 520 levelling mortar and SikaGard 550W, an elastic, anti carbonation, protective, decorative coating, are being used in the construction of Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth Harbour.
Performance testing is based on the Sika pre-bagged system of cementitious mortars, which have colour-coded packaging for easy identification and quality control.
These include the recently added blue-banded screeding mortar, which is specially designed for easy laying and a reduction in floor screed thickness.
The Sika Waterproofing Systems consist of the four pre-bagged cementitious mortars for use with Sika -1 integral waterproofing admixture and Sika Damp-Proofing Slurry.
They are suitable for internal or external application, and form an effective barrier against water transmission.
The Sika -1 system is a structural rendering system suitable for tanking all basements, and can be applied in a two, three or four coat system, depending on the water retaining qualities and application required.
The Sika Damp-Proofing Slurry is suitable for the waterproofing of basements up to four metres deep, and is slightly flexible, making it suitable to cover hairline cracks.
It is available in 25kg bags and 12.5kg buckets in both white and grey, and is suitable for brush, trowel or spray application.
This recent award of the BBA certificate to the Sika Waterproofing System is confirmation of Sika's 0n-going commitment to consistency, innovation and quality.
