'Interest from both UK and European visitors was particularly strong in a number of our key technologies for direct and structural glazing, such as our Sikasil IG 25 HM silicone insulated glazing sealant for gas-filled IG units,' comments Jeff Richards, Sika's Fenestration specialist in the UK.

'Sikasil IG 25 HM sealant has been specially developed for manufacturers to meet the stringent gas-filling requirements of the EN 1279 Part 3 standard for insulated glass units.

Providing the highest energy rating for windows requires the use of gas-filled units, compliant with EN 1279 Part 3 in combination with either coated or specialist glass.

Sika's ability to supply the ideal product for the application is especially relevant given the forthcoming legislative requirements early next year.

Manufacturers supplying IG units to the highest thermal standards will then be able to command a considerable competitive advantage.'
