Sika Limited, who have been the household name in waterproofing for over 90 years, recently launched their complete range of systems to an audience of architects and engineers at The Building Centre in Central London With the launch of Sika's Cavity Drainage alongside the long established Sika-1 cementitious render system Sika are now able to offer solutions in full compliance with BS8102:1990 Code of Practice for protection of structures against water from the ground

Both Sika-1 cementitious water system and Sika Cavity Drainage have been assessed and awarded BBA certificates.

The Sika Waterproofing Systems consist of the four pre-bagged cementitious mortars for use with Sika-1 integral waterproofing admixture and Sika Damp-proofing Slurry.

They are suitable for internal or external application and form an effective barrier against water transmission.

The Sika-1 system is a structural rendering system suitable for tanking all basements and can be applied in a two, three or four coat system, depending on the water retaining qualities and application required.

The Sika Damp-proofing Slurry is suitable for the waterproofing of basements up to four metres deep and is slightly flexible making it suitable to cover hairline cracks.

Sika Cavity Drainage System comprises profiled polyethylene and polypropylene sheeting, which once installed to both walls and floor will allow water seepage to flow into drainage sumps for pumping into the main drainage system.

This type of waterproofing system proves ideal for basements with weak, friable masonry unable to withstand an increase in water pressure.

With Sika's full range of waterproofing solutions, they are now able to offer designers and contractors waterproofing solutions for all types of building construction.

With the Sika name and reputation client's can be confident in creating a permanently dry usable basement space.
