Sika A Towering Success In Portsmouth
Sika's Icoment 520 levelling mortar and SikaGard 550W, an elastic, anti carbonation, protective, decorative coating, are being used in the construction of Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth Harbour.
The 'highest performing' claim is made by virtue of its string of properties that include the highest degree of weatherability and UV resistance, non-yellowing and non-staining, primerless adhesion on most substrates and low sagging in high temperatures.
Sika product manager David Fraser explains, "Most manufacturers have sealant products that have some of these properties but Sikaflex AT Facade is the only one available that has all".
"This is good news for specifiers as there are very low maintenance costs and extended refurbishment cycles".
"Contractors appreciate the product as it is easy and quick to install, has very good smoothing and finishing properties, requires minimal substrate preparation and is extremely cost-effective".
Sikaflex AT Facade is a development of Sika's Advanced Technology that combines the long-established Sika polyurethanes and Modified Silicone technology.
This creates a hybrid chemistry releasing the best properties of both technologies.
Sikaflex AT Facade has approvals from ISO, DIN, ASTM and SNJF.
