Sika car park decking systems are being used throughout the refurbishment of Leigh Mills car park.

As part of the new and exciting Belgrade Plaza development in Coventry, Leigh Mills multi-storey car park is being extended and improved with the addition of five new levels This will create spaces for an additional 500 cars, taking the car park's capacity up to 1,200

Belgrade Plaza is a major mixed-use development, which will provide an eclectic range of bars, hotels, restaurants, retail, leisure and apartments and will include a public square where it is hoped to provide live entertainment for shoppers and passers by.

Sika car park decking systems are being used throughout the refurbishment of Leigh Mills car park.

Specialist contractors, Prestec UK Limited, are applying Sikafloor 156 epoxy primer, over-coated with Sikafloor 350 Elastic, an elastomeric polyurethane top deck coating system that is extremely durable with excellent crack bridging properties.

It is impervious with good resistance to weathering and UV.

Ramps and turning circles are being coated with Sikafloor 325, which is designed specially for the extra demands of these areas.

Sikafloor 354, a two part, coloured epoxy-polyurethane seal coat, is then applied over these areas.

Sikaflex 354 offers a tough, flexible surface, with excellent colour stability and resistance to weathering.

The intermediate decks are being coated with Sikafloor 261, to give a slip resistant, hardwearing surface.

This epoxy based, solvent free flooring system, is durable, waterproof, chemically resistant, and fast and easy to apply.

Sika repair mortars, protective coatings and decking membranes for car parks are tested in accordance with the German Rili-DAfStb standard (equivalent to the British Standard in the UK).

This standard is the most complete and complex standard for those applications; in fact it is the only one that tested and categorised car park decking membranes, and has had a significant influence on the development of the new European Standard on repair mortars, protective coatings and waterproofing membranes.

The GBP10 million contract is being built by support services and construction company Carillion plc for developers Oakmoor Deeley.

When completed it will provide a secure and safe environment for users of and visitors to, the newly established Belgrade Plaza.
