Sikafloor at Arsenal Emirates Stadium
Over 20,000 sq metres of the concourse areas of the stadium have been surfaced with resin flooring systems produced by Sika and installed by Phoenix Industrial Flooring.
As well as the need for a new, more durable surface, the floor also needed to be aesthetically pleasing and easy to clean and maintain.
Specialist resin flooring contractors IRL Group of Loughborough specified a resin system from Sika.
The old concrete floor was patched and levelled with a 5mm screed of Sikafloor 91, a solvent free high strength, heavy duty epoxy resin that provides a surface with high resistance to mechanical wear and abrasion.
This was followed by two coats of Sikafloor 261, a low viscosity epoxy resin that seals and protects the surface and is available in almost unlimited colours.
The finished floor is coloured red, has a high gloss appearance and is skid and slip resistant.
