An innovative industrial floor installed by specialist concrete flooring contractors Twintec at the new distribution warehouse and offices.

An innovative industrial floor has been installed by specialist concrete flooring contractors, Twintec at the new distribution warehouse and offices of AAH Pharmaceuticals of Stoke-on Trent AAH Pharmaceuticals are the leading distributors of pharmaceutical healthcare products to hospitals, pharmacies and chemists throughout the UK

Their specification demanded a high tolerance floor with a coloured surface that would need little or no maintenance and would meet the TR34:FM2 classification for floor flatness and levelness.

Twintec installed the 17,700 square metre, joint-free industrial floor slab using the Twintec Freeplan system comprising over 2,900cu.m.

of concrete, reinforced with steel fibres.

This innovative system eliminates all sawn induced contraction joints.

The dry shake topping Sikafloor MetalTop coloured red, was sprinkled directly onto the surface of the new, wet concrete floor slab using an automated spreading machine.

The topping fuses with the concrete when powerfloated, forming a monolithic surface that dramatically enhances durability, especially abrasion and impact resistance.

The colour pigments are integrated within the materials and therefore cannot wear off.

Within the blend of materials that make up Sikafloor MetalTop, are hard alloy aggregates containing titanium, this produces one of the hardest surfaces available.

The surface is anti-static, dust-free and resistant to oils, chemicals and solvents.

Slip-resistance actually increases with age, as does the aesthetic quality of the floor.
