Bold Move With Pure White, Rubber Flooring

A Sika product story

A unique, pure white, 'poured rubber' flooring system has been installed at the home of a London architect.

The basement flat in Kensington has been transformed from a somewhat gloomy and depressing abode to a light, warm, luxurious, family apartment.

Contributing to much of this bright, new environment is the exceptional flooring material supplied by Sika-Armorex.

The material is Sikafloor 300.

Described as a decorative comfort floor like liquid lino, it is a permanently elastic, liquid applied flooring system creating a seamless surface that when dry, gives a great feeling of warmth and comfort to walk on, even without shoes.

Such systems are becoming increasingly popular in residential and commercial properties, replacing conventional carpet and tiles.

Sikafloor 300 is available in limitless colours and individual flooring designs can be created by trained flooring specialists by merging colours, applying coloured flakes or painted designs - merging the boundaries of art and architecture.

The finished floor, as well as providing great comfort and visual appeal, has good durability and noise absorption properties and is easy to clean.

The material is also unique in its certification as an emission free floor.

This means that the floor meets stringent ecological standards for emission of odours, VOC's, heavy metals and other contaminants often present in sheet flooring systems.

This helps create a healthier environment and avoid 'sick building' syndrome.
