Homebase Select Sikafloor For New Stores
Sikafloor dry shake flooring systems have been installed in new Homebase stores around the country in recent months.
Following the successful use of Sikafloor dry shake material in Homebase stores over the past 10 years, new sites in Lowestoft Suffolk, Winchester West Sussex and Ledbury Hertfordshire are the latest to benefit from these attractive and durable floor surfaces.
Each of these latest 'home and lifestyle' stores has floors created by the application of Sikafloor SynTop.
This is an extremely durable dry shake material containing synthetic mineral aggregates and meets the BS criteria for severe abrasion resistance.
This provides a very economical, attractive and much more durable alternative to regular concrete and meets the stringent specification Homebase demand for low maintenance floor surfaces within their retail areas.
The dry shake material is sprinkled directly onto the surface of the new, wet concrete floor slab.
The dry shake fuses with the concrete when powerfloated, forming a monolithic surface that dramatically enhances durability, especially abrasion and impact resistance.
Standard and custom colour pigments can be integrated within the materials and therefore cannot wear off.
It is reckoned that a good quality dry shake flooring surface is some 20 times as abrasion resistant as powerfloated concrete and products such as Sikafloor-1 MetalTop and Sikafloor-2 SynTop have British Board of Agrement Durability certificates for up to 25 years.
