Specialist hygienic flooring system from Sika-Armorex has been installed at the newly constructed bottle filling hall for Quinn Glass.

A specialist hygienic flooring system from Sika-Armorex has been installed at the newly constructed bottle filling hall for Quinn Glass at their massive 205 acre production and distribution facility at Elton Cheshire The site provides a complete glass packaging, filling and distribution service for the drinks industry and is one of a few plants worldwide where bottles are manufactured and filled on a single site

The bottle filling hall is essentially a food processing area where the floor is subject to certain health and safety measures.

The water based polyurethane resin system Sikafloor 20 Purcem, was specified for the entire 21,000 sq metre area and installed by specialist resin flooring contractors IRL Group.

The new concrete floor slab was firstly treated with the water based epoxy primer Sikafloor 155W then the heavy duty screed of Sikafloor 20 Purcem was applied to the surface at a depth of 9mm, coloured to the client's specification.

This provides a floor surface that is extremely durable, withstands frequent high pressure steam cleaning, is resistant to slip and chemicals and is easy to maintain.

Earlier in the construction programme the dry shake surface hardening system Sikafloor-2 SynTop was applied to the 52,000sq metre floor of the Quinn Glass warehouse by Twintec .

Sika also supplied the SikaPlan reinforced PVC membrane roofing system for the warehouse.
