Sikafloor 261 applied with encapsulated aggregate within the system provides slip resistant, textured coating.

Continuous movements of forklift trucks at the storage warehouse of Polymer Logistics in Grangemouth had produced severe wear to the floor surface and smooth areas susceptible to slip issues.

Polymer Logistics provide merchandising units to retail customers worldwide.

Specialist industrial flooring contractors K Systems were called in to propose a solution to the problems and to provide a much more durable, coloured surface over the 1000 sq metre concrete floor, that would cope with the heavy duty wear and provide slip resistance.

The solution was the installation of the Sikafloor 261 epoxy coating system.

K Systems carried out a complete refurbishment of the floor surface by firstly mechanically preparing the old concrete floor using captive shot blasting.

The Sikafloor 261 was then applied with encapsulated aggregate within the system to provide a slip resistant, textured coating.

The installation was carried out over just four days minimising disruption to the workings of the warehouse.
