Sika car park decking systems were chosen to meet the stringent specifications required by the Institute of Structural Engineers recommendations.

A new multi-storey car park has recently been completed by civils contractor Daleraven Limited, Slough, on behalf of Main Contractor George and Harding ., to service the customers at the Travel Lodge on London Road, Camberley Sika car park decking systems were chosen to meet the stringent specifications required by the Institute of Structural Engineers recommendations for multi-storey and underground car parks in the design of the structure

Potential movement of the top deck is an inherent consideration on this type of steel frame structure with reinforced concrete slab.

Because of this the crack-bridging capabilities of Sikafloor 350 top deck coating system was chosen to meet this and all other requirements.

Specialist flooring contractor Datum Polydeck Limited applied Sikafloor 156 epoxy primer, over-coated with Sikafloor 350 Elastic, an elastomeric polyurethane top deck coating system that is extremely durable with excellent crack bridging properties and is tolerant to rapid cyclic movement.

It is impervious with good resistance to weathering and UV.

Ramps and turning circles were coated with Sikafloor 325, which is designed specially for the extra demands of these areas.

Sikafloor 354, a two part, coloured epoxy seal coat, was then applied over all areas.

Sikaflex 354 offers a tough, flexible surface, with excellent colour stability and resistance to weathering.

The Sikafloor 350 top deck coating system from Sika Limited has a proven track record and has provided a deck surface that is aesthetic, durable, slip and skid resistant and capable of resisting the abrasion and loadings from continuous vehicular traffic.
