Unique flooring system that is flexible, chemical and slip-resistant and provides an anti-static surface was the ideal solution supplied by Sika for a chemical company in Scotland.

The company is a leader in the production of alkaloid opiates, fine chemicals and pharmaceutical ingredients The construction of a steel mezzanine deck within the factory required this high-spec floor to be installed

The only flooring system to meet these requirements was supplied by Sika and installed by specialist contractors XL Industrial Resins.

The system comprised priming of the steelwork with Sika Icosit EG1 Rapid, a fast-curing epoxy resin providing a chemical and abrasion resistant coating.

This was followed by a coating of Sikafloor 220, providing a highly electrostatically conductive layer.

The final surface was an application of Sikafloor 390AS, a flexible, self smoothing epoxy coating able to cope with movement from the steel deck.

Sikafloor 390AS is also electrostatically conductive, provides high chemical resistance and heavy duty durability.
