Bristol Flyover Wrapped Up With Sika
SikaWrap 300A, a strong and tough Aramid fabric wrap system, was recently chosen to protect the columns on Gypsy Lane Flyover on the A38 north of Bristol against vehicle impact damage.
The Sikafloor EpoCem system was specified.
This system involved priming the concrete with the water based resin primer Sikafloor 155W, followed by 2mm of Sikafloor-81 EpoCem, a cement/epoxy mortar specifically designed to provide a moisture barrier over damp substrates.
The final surface was an application of Sikafloor-261 an epoxy coating and sealer that produces an extremely durable, smooth and glossy surface.
Sikafloor EpoCem systems are used extensively to refurbish concrete floors in maintenance workshops, garages, hangars and loading ramps.
