Sika provides protection from water damage
A Sika waterproofing system has been specified for a basement conversion to provide protection against water ingress.
Sika 1 system has been applied to pavement vaults floors, walls and soffitts in the basement area of the flagship Hugo Boss store in London.
The area is being converted from a storage space to usable floor space.
Sika 1 is a pre-bagged waterproofing system of mortar, screeds and admixtures.
The Sika 1 colloidal liquid admixture is mixed into the mortar and render.
Water ingress is blocked by Sika 1 transforming into a jelly-like substance when coming into contact with water, providing an invisable water-tight seal.
Sika's joint sealing system, SikaDur Combiflex, was also specified to complete the system, offering protection from water ingress to all gaps between cracks, joints, panels and walls.
Sika 1 meets British Board of Agrement requirements and BS 8102 Grades 2, 3 and 4.
