A Simmtronic product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 7, 2005

Roger Preston and Partners, one of the world's largest building services engineering consultancies commissioned Simmtronic to provide the fully-addressable advanced DALI system.

When Roger Preston and Partners, one of the world's largest building services engineering consultancies, was looking for the optimum lighting controls for its own UK headquarters, it specified many of the latest developments and commissioned Simmtronic to provide the fully-addressable advanced DALI system.

Here the fully-addressable DALI ballasts have been employed within TROX multi-service chilled beam assemblies - the sub-addressing being carried out at the beam factory, using Simmtronic test equipment and software.

Simmtronic radio switches and remote controllers were utilised in a system that incorporates presence detection and daylight linking of perimeter luminaries.

Additional features of the scheme include corridor hold, sliding partition interfaces, time controls, scene-setting and also photocell control of external lighting.

The 'state-of-the-art' system installed is capable of supporting an upgrade to introduce DALI emergency lighting monitoring once the appropriate technology is available.
