Simmtronic SPECS3 lighting control systems

A Simmtronic product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Feb 19, 2008

Simmtronic SPECS3 fully addressable lighting control systems are being installed, by mechanical and electrical contractors Haden Young, in the Cat.A fit-out of 150 Cheapside.

This prominent 19000m2 corporate office development, by St Martins Property Corporation , overlooks St Pauls Cathedral in London.

The presence-based lighting control scheme, specified by consultants Hilson Moran, encompasses eight floors of offices and core areas.

It is required to maximise energy savings and contribute to the building's excellent BREEAM rating.

In the commercial office areas the lighting controls are being installed to the DALI protocol with dimming functions.

Perimeter rows are being fitted with universal heads for daylight linking to dim or 'off' the lights in response to the natural light penetrating the building's full height glass facades.

In the core areas (lift lobbies etc.) control is through hardwired switching circuits.

Lighting in these common areas comprises both low energy high-efficiency compact fluorescent down lights and low voltage decorative feature lighting.

The Reception area is also hardwired but also has additional DALI controls with dimming functions for scene-setting.

Simmtronic has established an enviable reputation for high-reliability lighting controls with a proven track record in handling large projects to demanding specification.

It has completed more than 700 commercial projects, providing future-proof, fully addressable lighting control systems for many of the UK's largest and most prestigious corporate developments and has supplied many of the largest DALI projects to date.
