Simmtronic Specs3 Lighting Controls At Tower Place

A Sinopectcc Trade and Industry Company product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 13, 2004

SPECS3 lighting controls, from Simmtronic, were employed throughout the two linked seven storey Tower Place office buildings, recently occupied by Marsh McLennan Companies (MMC).

Located close to the Tower of London, this attractive triangular development is not only a large office complex but, with its sheltered pedestrian thoroughfare, is also a semi-public space.

For the full fit-out of this impressive 350,000 sq.ft development, Simmtronic engineered and supplied contractor Phoenix Electrical with a presence-based lighting control system for all open areas, extensive photocell control to roof lighting, local switching for cellular offices and full dimming and variable light level scene setting equipment with partition interfaces for meeting rooms.

Every light in the building, including the cores, is controlled with the SPECS3 lighting control system.

Local control modules have been linked to the building's generator for load shedding should the power go down.

Work on the lighting controls began before the base build was completed, with a Cat B fit-out being undertaken simultaneously across the two buildings.

This was later successfully tailored to MMC's precise requirements floor by floor as it took occupation.
