Building Services Consulting Engineers, Silcock Dawson awarded further project work through framework agreement with King's College, London.
Building Services Consulting Engineers, Silcock Dawson is awarded further project work through framework agreement with one of the oldest and largest colleges of the University of London.
With an enviable reputation in the education sector, Silcock Dawson continues to demonstrate its expertise with three projects awarded in the first six months of the leading building services consulting engineers being appointed to the King's College Framework panel.
The appointment was confirmed following a stringent process of interviews and an assessment of quality and budget parameters, which took 18 months to complete.
"We have a range of framework agreements in place across a variety of universities nationwide, and we are familiar with the sometimes lengthy process involved," explains Chris Smart, Director for Silcock Dawson.
"This particular multi-project appointment agreement for MandE designs and site monitoring duties has allowed us to truly prove our mettle, particularly due to the diverse range of projects to date".
From the provision of MandE services employing last technology in renewables and sustainable design to drawing on the company's vast lab and clinical expertise the projects detailed below will undoubtedly enhance Silcock Dawson's already impressive client and project portfolio.
Cecily Saunders Institute of Palliative Care.
Silcock Dawson is providing a new build facility to house the first Institute of Palliative Care in the world.
The building will house academics, researchers and carers, and will accommodate patients suffering with serious or life threatening diseases.
The premises will also provide facilities for patients' families to visit on a regular basis.
The engineering services design strategy is based around using as much natural ventilation as possible and to be as sustainable and environmentally friendly as possible.
It is expected that the Institute of Palliative Care will be viewed as a landmark building providing palliative care research facilities.
Currently palliative care services are accessed predominately by those diagnosed with cancer.
The voluntary sector provides the majority of specialist palliative care and research into this sector is seen as essential in this relatively new area of medicine.
