With the free Linux IPm Application Development Kit, users can now write applications to run in SIXNET's LINUX IPm controllers and remote terminal units (RTUs).
The IPm applications can be developed in either Red Hat Linux (7.0 or higher) or Microsoft Windows running on an i386 platform.
SIXNET's Linux IPm firmware already contains a wealth of software solutions that are ready to use right out of the box, including applications for: ISaGRAF IEC 61131-3 programming; datalogging; and Modbus master and slave, radio and telephone communications.
The Application Development Kit empowers OEMs, system integrators,and end users to create new applications, easily add I/O drivers, and customize the performance of existing firmware to fit special applications.
The IPm Application Development Kit's cross-compiler generates applications to run on the PowerPC in IPm stations.
A remote debugger is also provided to perform diagnostics from Linux (the debugger is not currently available for the Windows platform).

Current IPm products that run embedded Linux applications are the SixTRAK IPm Open DCS Controller, VersaTRAK IPm RTU, and OEM versions of the SixTRAK I/O Controller.
