Costa Tennis courts get new lease of life

One of the most popular tennis clubs on the Costa del Sol has recently had courts refurbished with a specialist surface system produced by UK-based Sports Coatings .
Courts at the Darryl Collins tennis academy at Fuengirola had not been refurbished for over 10 years, had become slippery and were not draining due to the pores of the surface being blocked with dirt and debris.
Specialist Spanish contractors specified the Sports Coatings surface system Sports-Cote Premium as the ideal solution for the refurbishment.
Sports-Cote Premium is an environmentally-friendly, water-based polyurethane/acrylic blended coating designed by Sports Coatings specifically to provide excellent surface performance on porous macadam tennis courts.
The courts were first cleaned with a high pressure water jet to remove debris, loose paint and to clean the pores and allow the surface to drain.
Two coats of coloured Sports-Cote Premium were then applied in less than four hours allowing the club to return the courts to use after only two days.
The new surfaces are extremely durable, provide good grip and are available in a range of standard and custom colours.
