New tennis courts for Norwich Sports Village

Two indoor tennis courts and two indoor/outdoor courts have been constructed at the Norwich Sports Village using specialist surface systems from Sports Coatings .

The Sports Village is centred around a fifty-five room hotel and features a health and fitness centre, gymnasium, snooker room and aqua park swimming pool complex as well as tennis, squash and badminton courts.

Surfaces for the two indoor tennis courts are the Sports Coatings Proflex cushion floor system that comprises a preformed rubber mat adhered to the asphalt base then sealed with a polyurethane pore filler to produce a smooth, dense surface.

Next a flexible membrane is applied followed by three coats of acrylic top coat applied by squeegee.

The finished surface provides excellent grip, consistent ball bounce and extreme durability.

Two other hard court tennis courts are open air in the summer and protected by a temporary pressurised building in the winter.

The surfaces applied here are the Sports Coatings Proflex Hard Court system that comprises a Tarmac re-surfacer and three coats of an acrylic/polyurethane top coat.

Playing lines for all the courts was also supplied by Sports Coatings and the surface installations were carried out by First Service Sports for operators Esporta.
