Sash help with Bible College project

New glazed extension at Mattersey Hall College in Doncaster from Sash UK has certainly found favour with the religious community there

The luminatrium was required by the college - one of Europe's leading Christian training centres - to expand the existing halls of residence that currently cater for over 100 residential students who attend the college.

As a result of the construction, a new common room has been formed as well as extra space for the existing refectory.

As usual, Sash adopted a hands-on approach throughout the entire process.

Nominated as principle contractor, from the initial design, which was arranged with AGP Architects of Manchester, through to the erection of the structure, Sash delivered the goods quickly and accurately and to the highest possible standards.

Quicker to erect and aesthetically more pleasing than traditionally built extensions, the Sash luminatrium offers a cost efficient solution where extra space is required, combining a robust aluminium frame with top quality doors, windows and roof glazing components.

"For maximum visual impact, as well as for practical reasons, we used the Pilkington Activ Blue self-cleaning glass," comments Mark Carver of Sash.

"This state of the art glazing not only eliminates the hassle and cost of cleaning, but the blue tint also provides solar control reducing the need for additional heating".

"We looked at a number of options for the project but Sash came out on top in all areas, from price to the ability to manufacture the structure given its size," comments project architect, Paul Dean of AGP.

"The service from Sash was exemplary throughout the scheme and we were very impressed with the general service offered by the company in all aspects".

The 26m x 9m structure was installed by a long term Sash subcontractor, and now complete adds a resplendent glazed extension with a touch of class to the halls of residence at this prestigious and well-respected bible college.
