Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 30, 2008

Sash UK, a manufacturer of PVCu fenestration components, has been appointed the sole supplier of PVCu doors and windows to the UK Timber Frame Association (UKTFA)

Dave Ruzicka, joint managing director of Sash, said: "Our position within the market place has been consistently strong, seeing our business uncover growth niche areas of opportunity to help spearhead the industry further, and the timber frame movement is precisely one of those.

"Not only that, we have developed an untouchable product range that sets a precedent for quality and is setting standards for environmental responsibility," he added.

"We have built up an excellent reputation within the timber frame sector as being a dedicated and reliable supplier for our extensive product range and our service.

"We have been supplying to this industry for many years and we are delighted with this recognition from the UKTFA".

UKTFA is the trade association representing more than 85% of UK timber frame manufacturers and key suppliers to this sector.

It promotes the benefits of timber frame construction, notably speed and ease of build, design flexibility and environmental excellence.

To achieve the status of supplier, Sash had to demonstrate that it met the association's stringent environmental and quality standards.

"UKTFA insists that all suppliers comply with the Q-Mark scheme," said Ruzicka.

"This means achieving ISO 9001 quality management accreditation and ISO 14001 environmental management accreditation, which we have already attained.

"Our green credentials are exemplary throughout every area of our business and we are committed to constantly improving our environmental footprint".
