Socomec UPS has supplied ten of its high spec Digys UPS systems to electrical contractor, Field Systems Design to back up the tunnel lighting and control systems at Dartford Thurrock Crossing.

Flexible, high spec backup system was essential as Dartford Thurrock Crossing is an extremely busy operation, open seven days a week, 52 weeks a year with annual traffic levels in excess of 50 million vehicles The tunnels and services are now protected by eight 60kVA Digys systems, whilst the charge booths are backed by two 40kVA units, running in parallel

With DSP technology and a galvanic isolation transformer, Socomec's Digys UPS is designed to meet the most exacting requirements of consulting engineers and contractors involved in specifying emergency lighting backup systems.

It also has low levels of harmonic injection, which is particularly important where the installation is backed by a diesel generator.
