Masterys - the ups with a 'six pack'

A Socomec Sicon UPS product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 2, 2004

Socomec Sicon UPS has launched its innovative Masterys Series, a range of single and three-phase modular uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Socomec Sicon UPS has launched its innovative Masterys Series, a range of single and three-phase modular uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) with ratings from 8kVA up to 90kVA.

These versatile, easy to install modules have ultra-low sine wave distortion and no single point of failure making them ideal for business critical, mission critical and industrial applications.

For mission critical applications, Masterys modules guarantee perfect sinusoidal absorption in all conditions and the six pack IGBT rectifier (THDI value <3%) delivers savings of up to 20% on energy costs during inverter-powered operation.

Always-on mode offers the same guarantee during operation powered by the stand-by network.

The modules have been designed with a reduced number of components - 70% of which are recyclable in anticipation of new ROHS and WEEE Directives.

Its high output and low harmonics contribute to this consistent reduction in energy consumption.

For ease of handling, the Masterys Series modules are wheel mounted, yet compact enough to be installed in existing standard 19" rack cabinets.

With scaleable back-up times, varying back-up time capacities are available within the same cabinet, without increasing the footprint.

Up to six modules can be run in parallel and there are two models that can be formatted to accept either single or three-phase input at installation time.

The new modules have hot swap batteries, Socomec's proprietary Expert Battery System (EBS) for longer battery life and an optional LCD display with load logging capability.

With the Masterys energy saver, always-on mode, EBS, integrated LAN connection, Socomec maintains its reputation for being at the forefront of UPS design innovation.

It was the first company to introduce IGBT devices and to use it up to 800 kVA; the first to use Digital Signal Processing; the first to come up with modular parallel systems and the concept of easy modulisation.
