Sub-Zero Freezer Company used SolidWorks software to create the Sub-Zero PRO 48, the largest refrigerator/freezer combination the company offers.

All-stainless PRO 48 brings professional kitchen capabilities to people who love food and entertaining.

Sub-Zero Freezer Company, the leading manufacturer of luxury residential refrigeration and wine storage units, used SolidWorks software to create the Sub-Zero PRO 48, the largest refrigerator/freezer combination the company offers.

At nearly 30 cubic feet, the PRO 48 features wall-to-wall stainless steel and integrated LED lighting throughout.

Sub-Zero calls it a "monument to food preservation." "There's a lot of technology in the PRO 48," said Sub-Zero Senior Drafter John Andrews, a winner of the SolidWorks 2005 Design Contest for the PRO 48's sheet metal design.

"SolidWorks 3D CAD software helps us take elegant concepts from our industrial designers and quickly prepare them for manufacturing, exchanging files seamlessly".

"The software automatically updates assemblies with every dimension adjustment".

"Powerful sheet metal design capabilities enable us to make the part the way we want it to look, versus predict the final shape of a flat-pattern design".

"Inevitably, the design is right the first time".

The Madison, Wis., company recently purchased additional licenses of SolidWorks software to support its strong growth, including a new 300,000 square-foot plant in Fitchburg, Wis".

"We've standardized on SolidWorks software because of its user-friendly interface, minimal training requirements, and enhanced administrative capabilities, all of which help us meet increasing demand for our world-class products," said Jason Lindgren, Sub-Zero's engineering systems manager.

As design data accumulates, Dassault Systemes' SMARTEAM product data management software will continue to manage part, product, and revision files across all of Sub-Zero's engineering, production, and service locations".

"Sub-Zero is synonymous with quality, innovation, and style in the kitchen, and we are pleased that SolidWorks software has become an increasingly indispensable tool for the company," said Rainer Gawlick, SolidWorks vice president of worldwide marketing".

"Seeing customers like Sub-Zero purchase additional licenses is the best possible confirmation of the software's value".

Sub-Zero relies on authorized SolidWorks reseller CATI for ongoing software training, implementation, and support.
