Beat The Heat With The Patterson Ice Cube

A Scott Products product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 17, 2003

Stalbridge Linen acquired 4 Patterson Ice Cube air conditioners from Scott Products. 3 of the new cooling units were installed in Stalbridge's flagship laundry in Dorset and one in Scotland.

Stalbridge Linen, a member of Johnsons Service Group Plc, has 25 years of experience in linen rental and dry cleaning services.

Employing a 'No contracts', 'No hidden costs' and 'No waiting' philosophy, the company offers an unbeatable service to hotels, restaurants and other catering establishments.

It supplies a full range of chef's wear, huge stocks of white table linen, bed linen, duvet covers, towels, mats and robes as well as offering embroidery, repair and dry cleaning services.

Scott Products Ltd introduced Stalbridge Linen to the Patterson Ice Cube cooler and an onsite demonstration of the product followed.

Their existing plumbed-in air-conditioning system, which is still used in Stalbridge Linen' s factories, was not powerful enough to combat the heat generated by the cleaning machines.

Mr Alan Mulholland, Operations Director in Stalbridge Linen comments: "Traditionally, in laundries there is machinery generating high levels of heat.

The factory is located in an old building with a low roof, making the conditions even more unpleasant.

We needed smaller and more effective units.

The Ice Cube helped us to isolate certain areas providing a directional and more effective way of cooling." The Patterson Ice Cube is a portable flash evaporative cooler that can be located anywhere within 100 feet of the workforce and reduce the air temperature by up to 20 F.

It requires only mains electricity and water and is suitable for cooling areas of up to 1500 sq.ft.

It is ideal for factories, foundries and metal working shops as well as laundries, where the heat generated can cause uncomfortable working conditions but it is also perfect for cool animal and live plant stores, garden centers and agricultural produce stores, since it produces re-humidified air.

Being portable, the Ice Cube can be used for cooling outdoor facilities.

Apart from the cooling benefits, the Ice Cube has a low capital cost and minimum running costs.

Scott Products Ltd specialises in the distribution of heating and cooling solutions.
