The Warwick office of SOL Construction has negotiated a £5 million Design and Build contract with Coventry based Cassidy Developments and the Zenith Development Partnership.

Work has begun on the two brown field sites.

One located on Upper York Street in Earlsdon which was formerly the site of factory will see the development of a five storey steel framed block with 63 bespoke apartments.

The Holyhead Road residential building will be built as a traditional load bearing structure with a further 13 one and two bedroom apartments.

The shared ownership housing has been designed to an extremely high specification and each apartment will have the benefit of white goods, satellite television, en-suite bedrooms and video entry systems.

Special care and consideration has been taken into account with regards to the facade of Upper York Street which has been specifically designed to feature a blend of brick, faced block work and cedar boarding complete with reconstructed stone feature courses and cills.

Residents of the upper levels have the further benefit of Julliette balconies allowing the French doors to be opened fully into the living room.

SOL Construction's Major Projects Director, Terry Marsh is extremely pleased with the progress being made on both sites stating "Both locations have been tight spaces to work on with one a former petrol station and the other a factory.

However, we have successfully managed to remediate both sites and now we are able to provide high specification, affordable residential housing that will benefit the people of Coventry for several generations.

Everyone involved is committed to producing an environment that the incoming tenants will appreciate and enjoy.".
