Raising The Ceiling On Radiant Heating

A S and P Coil Products product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 1, 2003

SPC has introduced an improved version of its Thermatile radiant ceiling panel. The Thermatile Plus is an efficient radiant heating system that can be used invisibly or as an architectural feature.

Simple to install, the panels liberate valuable wall and floor space, allowing versatile use of an area.

Available in an extensive range of sizes and finishes, they feature a patented, corrugated aluminium construction that is highly conductive, providing improved, even heat transfer.

The Thermatile Plus is available in standard panels which can be quickly and easily installed in a conventional T-bar grid ceiling arrangement.

In addition, the lightweight but extremely rigid construction means panels can be manufactured in almost any shape and size and used for imaginative interior design.

An extensive range of metallic, painted and coated finishes are available, and panels can be plastered or textured, or finished to match the surroundings.

At the design stage, pre-cut openings can also be incorporated for fittings such as lights, smoke detectors and sprinklers.

The Thermatile Plus provides draught-free, silent heating with reduced operating costs.

Constructed from a unique, rigid sandwich panel made of highly conductive aluminium, it ensures maximum, even heat transfer.

Copper tubing is clamped on the reverse side and rolled into aluminium extrusions to provide optimum thermal contact, guaranteeing efficient temperature transmission from heating water to visible ceiling surfaces.

The strength and versatility of the Thermatile Plus means that retrofitting and change of use, as well as installation, is simple.

Panels can be connected directly into a regular low pressure hot water system or chilled water system in series or in parallel.

Each panel is supplied with a 750mm push-on hose and additional hoses and alternatives are available.
