SPC (SandP Coils) has been selected to supply radiant heating panels for the assembly hall of a Bolton primary school.

Specialist manufacturer and supplier of heating equipment SPC (SandP Coils) has been selected to supply radiant heating panels for the assembly hall of a Bolton primary school The Leicester-based heating experts have supplied four specially made Thermatile Plus panels for the hall of Moorgate Primary, as part of a revamp of its heating and electrics

The powder coated panels have been installed in the suspended ceiling of the hall and are virtually unnoticeable.

Heating in the hall was formerly provided by fan convectors, but the project consultants chose to replace them with radiant panels to free up valuable wall and floor space.

Senior Project Manager Eric Whitehead, of Building Services Partnership, chose SPC to provide the panels after using them for a previous job.

"The panels have proved themselves superior to other makes," he said.

"They are reliable, cost and energy efficient and very good quality.

"They are ideal for this job because they have freed up valuable space in the school hall." The Thermatile Plus panels have a unique linear strip panel joining system meaning they can be fitted by nearly anyone - cutting down on extra labour costs.

They also have a composite aluminium sheet structure, providing a rigid flat panel which can be made to any specified size, shape and colour to enhance the architectural design of a room.

The ceiling mounted devices emit radiant heat to warm room occupants directly and the air indirectly, resulting in lower heat losses and energy savings.

The tiles can either be suspended just below a ceiling, or fitted into a suspended ceiling, freeing up valuable floor and wall space.
