Thermatile Plus radiant panels from SPC

SPC, manufacturer and supplier of heating equipment, lands contracts to supply two landmark buildings, thanks to unique installation features of its Thermatile Plus radiant panels.

SPC (SandP Coil Products Limited) has been chosen by contractors NG Bailey to supply the radiant ceiling panels for workshops and classrooms at the new GBP46 million York College, one of the biggest building projects of its kind in the country, as well as for labs and offices in an GBP18 million revamp of the Royal Oldham Hospital in Lancashire.

Bosses at NG Bailey said they chose SandP Coils over other suppliers because of the high quality, easy installation and competitive pricing of the panels.

Senior mechanical engineer Gordon Pollitt said: "We needed radiant heating panels to release as much floor and wall space as possible.

It was the high standard of product and competitive installation costs that first attracted me to SPC's Thermatile Plus radiant panels.

"I don't know of any brands of panels that fit in so easily - they just drop into the ceiling grids.

You don't need brackets like you do with other types".

The heating panels were specified for both projects to free up wall and floor space for state of the art facilities and furniture.

Their radiant nature means they warm up occupants directly and save around 15 per cent on energy costs.

The Thermatile Plus panels have a unique linear strip panel joining system meaning they can be fitted by nearly anyone - cutting down on extra labour costs.

They also have a composite aluminium sheet structure, providing a rigid flat panel which can be made to any specified size, shape and colour to enhance the architectural design of a room.

The new York College, situated on the south western gateway to the city, will cater for some 13,000 learners.

It will bring huge social and economic benefits to the city and provide a massive boost to further and higher education in York and North Yorkshire.

The new centralised laboratory at the Royal Oldham Hospital is due for completion in November 2007 and represents a key part of the move by the NHS to modernise pathology services across the north east sector of Greater Manchester.
