ThermaTile Plus Radiant Panels accreditation

A S and P Coil Products product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 30, 2008

S and P Coil Products Limited have been accredited with European standard EN14037 for their ThermaTile Plus Radiant Ceiling Panels.

EN14037 is the new standard for measuring the output of radiant panels.

It not only states how and where panels can be tested, but also sets standards for panel structure.

Testing of radiant panels by manufacturers has been promoted by the European Manufacture of Ceiling Panels (EMCP) Group who consists of the major radiant panel manufacturers in the UK and of which SPC are a founder member.

The group agreed in 2007 that all companies within the group should test and publish their radiant panel outputs to the EN14037 standard to help clarify outputs which were causing confusion across the industry.

The EMCP Group recommends that customers should only rely on the output of radiant panels tested to this standard.

SPC's accreditation and testing was performed by WSP Lab Stuttgart, Germany (07.55.SPC.101) in March 2008.

SPC's UK Sales Director, Warwick Taylor said "For a number of years manufacturers have been publishing outputs for radiant panels with no standard to base them on".

"Now we have a European radiant panel standard that we can all use".

"I am delighted that SPC are one of the first UK based manufacturers to be tested and accredited to the standard".

To publish the accredited outputs for the ThermaTile Plus Radiant Panels, SPC have developed a new brochure which is available for download from the SPC website www.spcoils.co.uk or as a hard copy by calling 0116 2490044.

The new brochure provides a clear understanding of the technology used in radiant panels along with installation savings which can be made by using ThermaTile Plus Radiant Panels.
