Sprunt Regenerates South-East London Estate

Sprunt have been appointed by LB Lewisham to deliver £20m regeneration works to Honor Oak Estate in south-east London.

-architects appointed by LB Lewisham to deliver ?20m works- London-based architect Sprunt, specialists in urban and property renewal strategies, has been working with the London Borough of Lewisham to provide a full range of ongoing consultancy services to develop and deliver £20m regeneration works to Honor Oak Estate in south-east London.

Sprunt's remit spans architecture and landscape design as well as building surveying and quantity surveying.

On site since 2000, the rolling programme of works comprises significant internal and external refurbishment to the existing 1930s- and 1960s-built stock, to include roof and window renewal, replacement kitchens and bathrooms, central heating and electrics.

Sprunt has also been working on major estate-wide environmental schemes such as new play areas, access routes, lighting, defensible spaces outside the blocks, traffic calming, and landscape improvements to private gardens.

New paving to footpaths and public areas are also being incorporated.

The project has attracted a number of partners such as the Family Housing Association and Lewisham Sure Start.

A job promotion centre has been set up, managed by local residents, as has a community artist group which is utilising space in the once vacant shop units.

Acting as central agent for linking together these initiatives, Sprunt is also responsible for maintaining a general overview, as well as chairing monthly regeneration meetings to monitor further opportunities and processes.
