Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team May 28, 2004

London-based architects Sprunt, specialists in urban and property renewal strategies, have announced that Marcel Hendricks, MRICS, has been appointed a director of Sprunt Limited.

The promotion reflects the significant contribution Hendricks has made to the growth and success of Sprunt in the residential, housing and education sectors.

"Marcel is a chartered building surveyor with particular interests in urban regeneration, his input into the future shaping and development of the practice will be invaluable," said Rob Sprunt, managing director, Sprunt.

"He will now lead a coordinated drive to expand our housing and education interests with clients, contractors and end users, while exploring new ventures and different sectors." Hendricks joined A F Hare and Partners in March 1995, prior to its merger with Shaw/Sprunt in May 1995 and, until recently, was senior building surveyor and associate at Sprunt, managing the 11-strong building surveying team.

He is currently overseeing the management of over 40 projects for the London Borough of Camden, ranging in value from £30,000 to £6m, with a total value of £40m.

Hendricks was also responsible for managing a partnering contract with Kensington Housing Trust, a Beacon Project under the Movement for Innovation Scheme.

Furthermore, he is an advisor on the development of Quadpro Sprunt's asset management systems, Domaine, Collegiate and Scholar, currently installed in over 200 schools throughout the UK.

"I am delighted to have been chosen to fill the role of director at Sprunt," said Hendricks.

"Few practices can rival the extent of Sprunt's expertise and its ability to deliver the right solutions to clients.

The industry faces many challenges in the future and I look forward to taking the company from strength to strength.".
