Sprunt is offering a Health Check service designed to help property managers ensure that repairs and planned maintenance services to existing housing stock are efficient.

Designed to help property managers ensure that repairs and planned maintenance services to existing housing stock are efficient, effective and meet Audit Commission guidelines, Sprunt, one of the UK's leading building and property renewal consultancies, has announced that it is offering a Health Check service.

The service, which considers the numerous planning issues constantly faced by property managers, includes for example, help with implementation of efficient procedures for delivering repairs and maintenance programmes, assessment of existing contracts together with monitoring and managing of contractors' performances.

For example, a recent Health Check carried out for Hornsey Housing Trust helped set-up a training programme for the organisation's maintenance officer as well as providing a short-term action plan designed to improve the performance and probity of its repairs and maintenance services.

"Sprunt was excellent, professional and efficient," said Idiong Ekpo, Housing Manager, Hornsey Housing Trust.

"It understood our organisation and business, and worked with us to put together a realistic plan ensuring we meet our objectives of continuous improvement in providing effective maintenance services to our tenants as well as value for money".

"With Sprunt's expertise we have also been able to put together a personal development programme for our maintenance officer that will provide the additional technical skills required for the role".

As part of the Health Check service, Sprunt will analyse the robustness of a company's asset management provisions, resourcing issues and undertake skills audits.

Identified short-falls are subsequently documented in a detailed action plan which will offer an overall assessment on the delivery of day-to-day repairs, servicing and cyclical programmes.

Recommendations are designed to help property managers ensure efficient, effective and robust systems are in place.
