Omega wins GBP2.1m Kier project with Spectus

A Spectus Window Systems product story

Spectus customer Omega Group UK has recently won a large GBP2.1million new build project in Peterborough with Bellwinch, a Kier Group Company.

The first phase of the project is underway and has already raised a number of interesting technical issues and potential challenges.

"We're fabricating and installing Spectus Elite 70 windows and doors with an unusual grey on white foil for 550 properties," explains Rob Morley, Managing Director of Omega.

"And the buildings are timber framed so we had to work closely with the architects to allow for the fact that timber and PVC-U compress at different rates.

The windows and doors also have the police-endorsed Secured by Design accreditation, which is becoming increasingly popular with developers.

"For the new build, commercial and public sector markets, we have to be the experts, ready to offer detailed technical support," continues Rob.

"Offering a range of products that match and work together - such as grey-on-white foiled doors and windows - is important too, because housebuilders want a complete solution.".
