Spectus Elite door system secures success

Demand for Secured by Design (SBD) products from Spectus is growing driven partly by the New Crime Strategy launched by the Home Office.

Highseal Windows Limited achieved Secured by Design (SBD) on Spectus' Elite 70 Residential PVC-U Door System in October.

Demand for SBD products is growing in both domestic and commercial sectors, driven partly by the New Crime Strategy launched by the Home Office in July, which endorses police-backed SBD.

David Maybank, Sales and Marketing Manager at Highseal, comments: "The accreditation means installers can differentiate themselves, and it helps them 'seal the deal'".

Spectus is one of the big window systems brands.

One of the leading premium brands in the 1980s, it prospered in the 1990s and was acquired as part of the Mottram Group by Heywood Williams.

Although it was merged with Heywood's other systems company brands into HW Plastics, it fiercely retained its own identity and family image.

It also survived the initial disruption and settling in period of the state of the art distribution centre at Trentham.

Later HW Plastics was acquired by Latium and the systems business renamed Spectus, a reflection of its heritage, strong customer relationships and respect for the brand and its products.

Spectus is led by a new Managing Director, Sam Kennedy, and an experienced senior management team, some of whom have been with the company since the 1980s.

Spectus is setting out to lead the market.

The market is going through a huge transformation and only some systems company brands will be relevant to fabricators in the emerging market.

Indeed, only some systems companies can help fabricators do well in the market now.

Spectus is well placed to become the leader amongst these brand.
