Mercury in orbit with Spectus sash

A Spectus Window Systems product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Apr 2, 2008

Specialist sash fabricator Mercury Glazing Supplies has recently expanded due to increased demand.

"The slider market has increased 33% over the last three years against a decline of 15% in the first time replacement casement window market," says Steve Cross, Joint Director of Mercury, which makes 200 Spectus sashes a week.

"It's a major opportunity for installers and fabricators but you need to have the right product and strong support throughout the supply chain".

"Many of our customers are fabricators who buy-in - manufacturing sliders is a big investment and very different to making casements".

"As an established sash specialist we're helping them make the most of this market".

Steve explains Mercury's growth: "We've only ever fabricated the Spectus sash because it's the best available and the support is second to none".

"The slider has all the traditional benefits improved by modern technology".

"Its Ovolo outer frame, cill, sash, bead and stop give an authentic appearance, perfect for traditionally styled homes - a market with huge untapped potential.".
