Spectus colour for seaside flats

Penicuik complete GBP200,000 project that involved fabricating and installing green and light oak Spectus Elite 70 tilt'n'turn windows and French doors.

Demand for colour is growing fast and today coloured profiles including woodgrain are 16% of total UK volume - over 6% higher than 10 years ago*.

But in Scotland the proportion is even higher and growing, as Spectus customer, Penicuik, can testify.

Based in Midlothian, Penicuik recently completed a GBP200,000 project that involved fabricating and installing green and light oak Spectus Elite 70 tilt'n'turn windows and French doors.

The 74 luxury new build flats are set on the harbour side in Kirkcaldy, on the East coast of Scotland.

Unusually, Fife Council requested that all the windows facing the main road were green, while all the windows facing the harbour were light oak woodgrain.

All the windows were light oak internally.

"Availability of colour is key for our target markets," says Neil Clunie, Commercial Director of Penicuik.

"And the systems company's role is crucial".

"Fabricators and installers can't sell colour unless they have a wide range to offer".

"We knew Spectus could supply the coloured profile we needed, on-time and in-full".

"Colour is fashionable and fun, and is increasingly specified in both the commercial and domestic markets".
