SSL Access wins contract in Glasgow development
SSL Access, the lifts solutions company, has become a key supplier at the West 11 project in Glasgow.
The family-owned firm, which is based in the East End of Glasgow, was called in by award-winning developers Crudens to create a wheelchair access package for six units within the development which are designated as workshops.
The units, which will be an integral part of the 76-apartment project, each have a mezzanine floor.
To make them fully compliant with the Disability Discrimination Act, SSL Access supplied six three-stop vertical platform lifts which will provide safe access to the ground floor, the disabled toilets and the mezzanine.
The A300 lifts recommended by SSL provided the developers with a bespoke solution which is suitable for small landing areas and requires minimal building work since no pit is required.
They can lift up to six metres.
The GBP70,000 contract is just one of many which have helped the 26-employee firm achieve turnover of GBP3 million and establish a niche as a trusted quality supplier across the sectors.
Marc Barry, a director of SSL Access, said: "Crudens are creating a wonderful development which will be at the heart of the vibrant West End for many years to come and SSL Access are proud to have been invited to be part of it.
"Once again, our long-established commitment to quality, pricing, service and delivery has taken us into a prestigious and laudable project.".
