STG success of Cancer Research UK
charity evening
STG has raised an impressive GBP30k by hosting a Business Awards and Charity Evening in support of Cancer Research UK.
Held at the Royal Armouries, Leeds, the event was Hollywood Themed with live music, dancing, a roulette casino and charity auction Well known BBC Look North Presenter, Christa Ackroyd, attended the evening as a guest speaker and popular BBC Radio Leeds DJ Gary Don supported the event by hosting the auction; which saw slots such as top Leeds restaurant, Bibis, chef's services for an evening going for an impressive GBP1.5k

Over 400 individuals including employees, event sponsors such as Barclays Bank, Merseyrail, PKF, Anchor Vehicle Hire and Jardine Lloyd Thompson; plus local Leeds business people, including David Parkin, Business Editor of the Yorkshire Post, attended the successful event which was originally devised to show support for one of STG's team members whose family was recently affected by cancer.
During the evening STG also presented its own Business Awards for the first time to a small number of its subcontractors and suppliers.
The award for Outstanding Provider was accepted by Jardine Lloyd Thompson, Best Sub-Contractor went to IT Electrical (Yorkshire) and Best Supplier was awarded to Cartwright Hardware.
STG also presented employee Roland Leeming with a Lifetime Achievement award for services to the company.
Andrew Watson, Managing Director at STG, said: " The evening was a great success and we were delighted not only with the interest from employees, business partners and sponsors, but also by the generosity of those who donated auction prizes and those who bid for them".
"We would like to thank everyone involved as it has enabled us to show our appreciation to sub-contractors and suppliers through the launch of our own awards scheme and raise a substantial amount of money - beating our annual target by GBP10k - for Cancer Research UK.".
