A cheque for GBP20k has been presented to Meningitis Research Foundation by Strategic Team Group.

Strategic Team Group, one of the UK's fastest growing suppliers of building and property solutions, has celebrated a year of charity work by officially presenting a cheque for GBP20k to Meningitis Research Foundation The donation comes as the result of a year of work for the company's selected corporate charity, Meningitis Research Foundation, and is the result of the innovative, inventive and ingenious undertakings of enthusiastic team members

Meningitis Research Foundation was selected as STG's corporate charity in 2006 in support of a team member whose family has been affected by meningitis.

The aim for the year was to get employees involved in raising a target of GBP20k for the charity and the company is delighted to have achieved this ambition.

Speaking about the donation, Managing Director, Andrew Watson, said: " We work closely as a team at STG and participate in a number of charitable activities, so when we are able to pull together and support a team member as well as making a real difference to a charity, we feel we have really done something to be proud of." Terri McDonald, Corporate Fund Raising Officer from Meningitis Research Foundation, said: "Companies like STG can make a real difference to the lives of everyday people by getting involved in raising money for charity.

The kind of activities that can be used to raise money are great for team building, a lot of fun and often good for you.

The ability to realise this and act on it is worthy of praise and congratulations." Meningitis Research Foundation is a national registered charity established in 1989.

From small beginnings, the Foundation has grown into an international charity at the forefront of fighting death and disability resulting from meningitis and septicaemia.

Since the charity's inception, thousands of people have become members of the Foundation, working together to help us achieve our vision of a world free from meningitis and septicaemia.

The charity's staff are located at offices in Bristol (registered office), Belfast, Dublin and Edinburgh and work to achieve the charity's objects in a professional and effective way.

The Foundation's Chief Executive is Denise Vaughan.
