STATS Limited believes that the success of the London bid will stimulate the need for specialist consultants over the period running up to the Olympics.

STATS Limited a firm of specialist engineering, materials and environmental consultants is experienced in the development of brownfield and marshland sites and believes that the success of the London bid will stimulate the need for specialist consultants over the period running up to the Olympics.

Thames Gateway Urban Development Corporation chair Lorraine Baldry said: " one of the reasons it (London's bid) won was its fantastic regeneration potential." The bid relied heavily on the regeneration potential that it represented, however, development in the Thames Estuary presents a number of technical challenges that will necessitate a high level of expertise.

STATS Chairman, Adrian Marsh who has worked on projects in the region for many years, believes "This news will mean that a major investment will be made in London's infrastructure, particularly in the poorer areas of the East End".

"This in turn will provide a boost to the UK's construction industry, and we are very excited about this because we specialise in ground engineering and remediation, environmental impact assessment, structural investigation, materials evaluation and construction quality assurance".

"In addition, we have undertaken numerous projects in the Lower Lea Valley and Thames Gateway, so we have the necessary experience and expertise to deal with the particular challenges that this area presents".

"For example, we recently completed investigations at the University of East London's Stratford Campus and we are currently providing geotechnical monitoring and consultancy services to a project near Gravesend in which the development of former marshland presents a number of significant challenges, not least of which is land-raising above flood levels".

"However, It is logical to assume therefore, that our services will be in great demand".

"We would like to take this opportunity to offer our sincere thanks and congratulations to Lord Coe and his team.".
