New triple certification boost for STATS

A STATS product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 20, 2008

Consultancy firm STATS is celebrating a 'triple certification' for internationally-recognised standards in environmental management, quality assurance and health and safety procedures.

The company has also been awarded an 'Investors in People' standard, after a thorough assessment that saw more than 30 staff interviewed for their views on the company.

Following long-standing certification by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance for ISO14001 (environmental management) and ISO9001 (quality management), this year's merger with the RSK Group Plc has given STATS the ideal opportunity to extend its certification to include OSHAS18001 (occupational health and safety management).

As part of the procedure, STATS will be migrating the ISO9001 and ISO14001 integrated management system to RSK's Det Norske Veritas certified (SHEQ MS) Safety, Health, Environment and Quality management system.

Commenting on the reasoning behind these initiatives, STATS Chairman Adrian Marsh said: "More and more businesses are coming under increasing commercial, regulatory and ethical pressures to control risk within their operations".

"We pride ourselves on ensuring that all staff and all departments comply with appropriate legislation and adopt best practice".

"However, health and safety is of course a top priority and the attainment of this standard demonstrates that we provide and maintain a safe working environment".

"The most important part of STATS is its people and the Investors in People standard demonstrates this, providing a clear framework for personal development within the business for existing staff and new employees".

"The IiP badge is reassurance to our clients and other stakeholders that STATS is a progressive organisation that is building on past performance and striving for future sustainable growth.".
