Steyport restructures its paint department to refocusing its sales on own-brand production and labelling for high street retailers while targeting Centurion Paints at the larger bulk purchasers.

The move, which follows extensive internal and external market research, is designed to increase revenue across the board by streamlining sales and reducing transport costs There will also be renewed focus on the development of more environmentally-friendly products

Wendy Drake, Managing Director for Steyport, said: "Centurion Paints has performed well since its launch, as have several own-brand names, but we are confident that a slight change in sales direction can bring far greater rewards in terms of customer service and revenue.

"As a company, we are also wholly committed to the environment and, although 85 percent of our products are water-based, market research shows that customers want more choice in this area.

By reducing transport and increasing development, we will meet our objectives".

Steyport, one of the UK's leading independent paint manufacturers, is the sole producer of Centurion Paints and the company handles several well-known own-brand labels included Travis Perkins.
