Paint-ability has brought its operation bang up-to-date by investing in a Triangular Bridge scaffold system from Sterk Systems.

The company has purchased the innovative lightweight system to replace its traditional tubular scaffolding and towers Traditional scaffolding is notoriously slow and complicated to put up, needing a specialist team both to erect and dismantle it

By contrast, Sterk Systems' Triangular Bridge scaffold is lightweight and easy to put up, removing the need for outside professionals.

A 12 metre span weighs less than 50kg, rests on just two bearers and can be erected by two people in 15 minutes.

The length of the scaffold also compares favourably with traditional scaffold towers.

The Triangular Bridge's adjustable supports are positioned against the wall and stabilised; the bridge section can then be lifted by two people on ladders and clicked into place.

The floor boards, hand rails and safety end rails can then be installed.

There's an optional weatherproof covering for the system, so there is no reason for work to be halted in poor conditions.

With new Working at Height regulations in force, the safety of scaffolding systems is under increasing scrutiny.

Workforce safety was a major factor in Paint-ability's decision to choose the Triangular Bridge system: "The quality of work we offer our customers is improved by being able to work at height with the same ease as at ground level," explains Peter Mark of Paint-ability.

"Sterk's Triangular Bridge system offers our employees greater safety when working at height and thus enables them to work more comfortably and more productively".

Sterk's system is tested to full European safety regulations (EN-1004) and its innovative design means reduced climbing time and therefore less potential for accidents.

The system also works well in areas with difficult access, such as above conservatories or swimming pools.

The reduced climbing time also speeds up work: painting contractors have reported a 45% increase in productivity and plumbers up to 60%! With increases like these, the initial investment in the system can quickly be recovered.

"We've been using the Sterk system for three months now and will be using it for all our external work above single storey level," says Peter Mark.

"It's easy to erect, safe to use and looks impressive too".

"We reckon it'll pay for itself within two years, so all in all it's been a sound investment".

Paint-ability is a family business offering a high-quality professional decorating service.

In business for more than 35 years, the company has a wealth of experience covering commercial, residential and local authority projects.

Designed by Dutch aluminium specialists Artilan, Sterk Systems' triangular bridge scaffold system is made from high quality, lightweight aluminium, with all-round welding to eliminate crevice corrosion.

The system has a wide range of uses, from construction and painting and decorating to roofing, plumbing and theatre productions.

Sterk Systems is the sole UK distributor of Artilan's Triangular Bridge System scaffolding.
