Sterk winch option on Triangular Bridge system
Sterk Systems' Triangular Bridge scaffold system has received an update with the addition of a winch option.
Warwickshire-based builder RJ Thompson Building Services is the latest customer to invest in a Triangular Bridge system featuring an integral winch to meet health and safety concerns.
With stringent Working at Height regulations now in place, the company decided to purchase a Triangular Bridge system to use for the replacement of fascias and soffits.
A nine-metre long system incorporating a winch was duly ordered, with a variable height between three and five metres.
"Health and Safety was a big reason for the purchase," confirms Richard Thompson of RJ Thompson.
"The Sterk system is very quick to erect and yet extremely safe and the huge advantage of the winch option is that the system can be assembled on the ground and then simply lifted into place".
The Triangular Bridge's winch system is supplied as an integral part of the base section of the supports.
The bridge is assembled on the ground, complete with floor boards, handrails and safety end rails and simply winched into place once complete.
At the required height, the bridge is locked into place with security pins.
It can also be winched up when loaded, with load capacities varying according to the span of the bridge.
"All our staff attended a short course on how to put the system together and operate the winch." says Richard Thompson, "On completion, they were presented with a certificate of competency".
"It's a great and extremely reliable system and we're very happy with our purchase".
In contrast to traditional scaffolding, Sterk Systems' Triangular Bridge scaffold is lightweight and easy to erect.
A 12-metre span weighs less than 50kg, rests on just two bearers and can be erected by two people in 15 minutes.
The length of the scaffold also compares favourably with traditional scaffold towers because it offers a long working span and does not need to be broken down and re-erected for each section of a job.
Sterk Systems is committed to improving safety standards for scaffolding in the UK.
The Triangular Bridge system is designed by Dutch aluminium specialists Artilan and is available in the UK exclusively through Sterk Systems.
Manufactured from high quality, lightweight aluminium, with all-round welding to eliminate corrosion, the system has a wide range of uses, from construction and decorating to roofing, plumbing and theatre productions.
RJ Thompson Building Services is based in Stratford-on-Avon and offers a wide range of construction services including property maintenance, alterations and refurbishments.
