Apartment owners will benefit from the latest in home technology with an Intelligent Home Control (IHC) system from Square D.

Apartment owners at Huddersfield's newest property development, Equilibrium in Plover Road, Lindley, will benefit from the latest in home technology with an Intelligent Home Control (IHC) system from Square D The apartments also feature Square D's integrated home entertainment and communication system, LexCom Home

Richard Brown, Sales and Marketing Manager at Lanson Developments said: "The apartments are designed to incorporate the very latest in smart home technology.

We are offering a range of bespoke communication packages to suit each individual, including the latest in plasma TVs and hi-fi equipment".

Square D Approved Installer, Active Technology Systems, of Huddersfield, fitted all of the IHC and LexCom Home systems.

Darren Broadbent, Active Technology Systems' Managing Director says: "The combination of IHC and LexCom Home will add an extra dimension to the apartment owners' lives." The IHC system enhances security because each of the 123 flats, which are priced from £84,950, are fitted with passive infrared (PIR) detectors and door sensors.

These are connected to the alarm system to automatically switch the lights on and sound an alarm if a break-in happens.

In addition the lighting is switched on automatically when people enter an apartment and a one-touch control turns all lights off when leaving.

The main living area can be programmed with mood settings activated by a single push of the infrared controller to immediately change the ambience.

There is also a holiday mode function that automatically varies the lighting controls to create the impression that the flat is occupied during holiday periods.

Comments Brown: "We have been reviewing intelligent wiring for some time now and were impressed with the quality and functionality of the Square D equipment and its ability to provide expanded specifications through bolt-on features and future-proof equipment." The LexCom Home system individually networks each apartment allowing the distribution of terrestrial and satellite TV, DVD, computer data, broadband, and telephone signals through standard connection points in every room.

Using LexCom Home, each apartment will benefit from high-quality audio in three rooms.

The system is operated with an infrared remote control and is capable of distributing future technologies, such as Video on Demand, throughout an apartment.

Lanson Developments is helping every owner customise their apartment by offering various upgrades to the standard package.

A water sensor that detects any leaks and automatically turns off the water supply can be fitted to the IHC and extra rooms fitted with infrared dimming and scene/mood controls.

Lanson Developments is offering various home cinema packages to maximise the impact of the LexCom Home system.

These include fitting a high-resolution 42" plasma screen TV complete with DVD surround sound system.

Equilibrium is being built in five sections on the site of the former Wellington Mills.

Four of the segments are new buildings while the remaining section is a renovation of the former mill.

Work started on the site in June and the final apartments are planned for completion in the spring of 2006.
